This page explains how Loozap makes money, which relationships could influence what you see, and how we manage those conflicts. We will keep it up to date, and the latest version is always linked in the footer.

How Loozap makes money

Source Status What it means for you
Commission on creator subscriptions and paid posts Active: 10% of each sale We earn when creators sell. We do not decide what creators say, and paid content is subject to the same rules as free content.
Commission on Marketplace, Services, Courses and event ticket sales Active: 10% on Marketplace sales. For other sales, the rate is shown before you list or sell. Sales are between the buyer and the seller. Our fee does not depend on which instruments a seller discusses.
Commission on brand collaborations Active: the rate is shown before a collaboration is agreed Brands can pay creators for sponsored content through Loozap. That content must be labelled "Sponsored" or "#ad".
Advertising and sponsored content Not active If we introduce it, every ad will be labelled "Sponsored" and listed here.
Premium membership Not active If we introduce it, we will describe it here.
Affiliate commissions from brokers or financial firms None We are not paid when you open an account with, or trade through, any firm. If this changes, we will name the firms here.
Payment from companies or issuers for coverage Never No company can pay for coverage, a better Rating, placement in Trending or a place in a Loozap Collection.

Official company Pages

Companies can run an official Page, and we link it to their instruments once we have checked that it is theirs. Companies do not pay for the Official badge or for the link. Posts from official Pages are labelled Official and appear on the instrument's Feed and News. They are the company's own communications, not independent reporting.

Member and creator disclosures

  • Research authors say in each Article whether they hold a position or have another interest in the instrument, using one of three labels: Interests disclosed (with details), No interests declared by author, or Not provided. The label appears next to the Article.
  • Paid promotion: members who are paid to post about a company, product or instrument must label the post as sponsored (see the Community Rules).
  • Referral links: members can earn referral credits when people join through their link. Members who share referral links must say that they benefit from them.
  • Paid creators sell subscriptions to their own content. A creator's income from subscribers is a potential conflict of interest, especially when their content encourages trading. Consider this when you read it.

Loozap staff and moderators

Everyone who works for Loozap, including contractors and moderators with access to non-public tools, must follow these rules:

  1. No front-running. Staff may not trade an instrument because they know about Loozap content that has not been published yet, such as a Loozap Collection, a featured item or a curated news item.
  2. No use of confidential information. Staff may not trade on, or share, information they see through moderation, reports, support tickets or company Page applications.
  3. Disclose positions. When staff write or curate content about an instrument (for example a Loozap Collection or an editorial note), they must disclose any position they hold in it, in the same way members do.
  4. No personal gain from moderation. Staff may not moderate content about instruments in which they hold a position, and may not use their role to promote their own views or holdings.
  5. Record keeping. On request, staff must provide records of their personal trades in instruments they have written about or curated, so we can check that these rules are followed.

Data and news sources

  • Market data: none yet. Loozap does not currently show live prices.
  • News: we list headlines and short summaries only from publishers that allow it, and always link to the original. We do not pay publishers for placement, and they do not pay us.
  • Instrument descriptions: written and checked by Loozap from each issuer's own public information, with a link to the source and the date we checked it.
